BBC 'Roughnecks' Actor Bruce Jones Bruce Jones with James and Yvonne Stewardson - January 1996
Bruce Jones first became involved with the James Stewardson Trust at Christmas 1994 when he played in a Charity football game. He promised to help in any way he could.The opportunity arose when the 'Bridges Direct Charities' based in Stockport, Cheshire decided to raise funds for James via a Charity Cabaret Concert. The Bridges Charity committee comprising of Bruce, Peter Kinnersley, Linda Lamon, Trish Beswick, Chris Riley, Joan Cairns and Alan Burroughs organised a wondeful evening's entertainment.
The concert was held at Offerton Social Club in Stockport on January 18th 1996 during a snow storm. When the show was due to start only 3 of the 9 Acts had arrived and Bruce was panicking! Eventually they all managed to arrive and the evening was a huge success, raising about £1,000. The artists, who all performed for no fee included:
