BBC 'Roughnecks' Actor Bruce Jones

Bruce Jones with James and Yvonne Stewardson - January 1996

Bruce Jones first became involved with the James Stewardson Trust at Christmas 1994 when he played in a Charity football game. He promised to help in any way he could.

The opportunity arose when the 'Bridges Direct Charities' based in Stockport, Cheshire decided to raise funds for James via a Charity Cabaret Concert. The Bridges Charity committee comprising of Bruce, Peter Kinnersley, Linda Lamon, Trish Beswick, Chris Riley, Joan Cairns and Alan Burroughs organised a wondeful evening's entertainment.

The concert was held at Offerton Social Club in Stockport on January 18th 1996 during a snow storm. When the show was due to start only 3 of the 9 Acts had arrived and Bruce was panicking! Eventually they all managed to arrive and the evening was a huge success, raising about £1,000. The artists, who all performed for no fee included:

  • CHARLOTTE JONES AND FRIENDS
  • BARRY CHANCE
  • JULIE CAROL
  • BUNNY LEWIS
  • DAVE NOLAN
